Profile

Meet George Kakkanatt,
Sugar Land Veteran Leader

I am George Kakkanatt, and I am proud that Sugar Land is where my wife Sally and I built our businesses and raised our three children who all graduated from FBISD schools, the University of Houston and are successful citizens. We love this City.

My life has been committed to faith, to freedom, family and free enterprise. Our Country, our community and city is what have been my priorities in all I’ve done.

I earned my master’s degree in social work and doctor degree before my service in our Country’s defense. I earned U.S. Air Force Captain rank as a Desert Storm Veteran. Then my family and I settled in Sugar Land and pledged to serve here.

As a husband and father I made a point to be involved in every aspect our sons’ schooling in Sugar Land. As a home and business owner and taxpayer I served as President of the Glen Laurel Homeowners Association before being elected to serve as Burney Road Municipal Utilities Board of Director.

As a Sugar Land business builder, I’m in the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce. As a Sugar Land community member, I am invested in Sugar Land Rotary, Sugar Land Lion’s Club and Knights of Columbus at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church. As a veteran leader I’m proud to serve in the Sugar Land American Legion Post 942.
